A Poem: "THE KING OF ZONING OUT"

Image
THE KING OF ZONING OUT by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_La Vigna ) "When my mind starts to wander Breaks out running,  Deeper, Into the unknown  Sprinting inward Soaring outward I escape Into uncharted zones Is it future? Is it past? All I know is: The present can kiss my ass These cubicles & kitchens These minimum wage prisons Are draining my heart But I’m less than a fart in the breeze To the Regional Manager I am The King of Zoning Out  Maybe I’ll be a spy Double agent, a hitman With a strict code Steal a car Hit the highway Carve a path ‘Cross the open road Then I’ll move Up to Portland Buy a bar Have a new band play every night I know my true self I warp and I melt A new consciousness Will coagulate To perceive space time app updates I am The King of Zoning Out" © Chris La Vigna 2021

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #60: A SHOW FOR LLOYD-O

Image
TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #60:  A SHOW FOR LLOYD-O by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) ALL HAIL LLOYD-O! Today's TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was an awesome time and a great way to ring in sixty episodes of this weird little internet radio show. Lloyd-O has long been a mascot for all of my creative endeavors, so it's only fair that he get an entire hour of KPISS digital airtime dedicated to his glory.  My Bandcamp featured artist was a Chilean death metal band called Phantasmagore, and I played the track " Insurrection Or Submission " off their new EP of the same name. Sadly, I think this is going to be my last post-show write up. As much as I've enjoyed doing these in the past, they've become more and more of a chore for me as of late. And let's be real, who the hell is actually reading these things anyways? Don't get me wrong, I'm aware that that statement could apply to pretty much every entry on this blog of mine, but even the lowest-clicked Q-Recs got...

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #59: CREEPY HOUSE

Image
TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #59:  CREEPY HOUSE by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) Somewhere in Bronxville, evil has a home... Today's episode of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was some good dumb fun. I decided to have the theme be a story of you, the listener, getting caught in a dark adventure in a spooky old house, scored to my kick-ass playlist, naturally. As things are opening up and I begin to work more and more on film projects that Covid forced into dormancy, my default storytelling nature is re-emerging. My "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" for today's show is the new single from French synthwave/darkwave icon Perturbator, " Lustful Sacraments. " I also debuted a new track from Brooklyn electronic music duo PET Wife, "Sword." The songs paired perfectly together for the "disco of the damned" portion of my loose haunted house journey. If you missed today's live broadcast, you can stream the recording here via the Kpiss website. You can also cat...

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #58: A BRIDGE TOO FAR GONE

Image
TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #58:   A BRIDGE TOO FAR GONE by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) A view of the water flowing under a bridge along the Bronx River Pathway. Last Tuesday's TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was a decent episode. Nothing wrong with it, it all went smooth, but for some reason it felt a bit low energy, as evidenced by the fact that I didn't post this write-up the day of, which is very rare for me. But y'know what? That's okay. Not every show's gonna be a zinger. That's just a fact. The show for June 15th, 2021, is undoubtedly going to be a great one, of that much I am certain. My "Bandcamp Pick of The Week" for Episode 58 was the song " No Justice " by the Baltimore hardcore punk band Tokenized. I saw them play at the Metro Gallery (pretty sure they were opening for The Nightbirds) back in 2017 when they were still going by the name xJoexBidenx.  Understandably, they've since changed their name, but they rock just as hard as they d...

A Poem: "Wounds Over Muzak"

Image
Wounds Over Muzak by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris La Vigna ) "A warm spring sun Shines down on Earth Yet you’re blind To its radiance You’re busy bleeding In a malfunctioning elevator Frozen between floors Held betwixt hallways These God damned doorways Thresholds of potential Limitless and limited Portals of paradox That mock you so What are you going to do about it? Nothing Do as you are Absolutely nothing Embody deficiency Exemplify entropy A legacy of mediocrity Stumbling towards its zenith Spilling so much red liquid tissue Onto the cold linoleum floor In your final sputtering fragments Recall a joke Laugh, forget, let go With a free heart And voided bowels  Embrace a silent cacophony." © Chris La Vigna 2021

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #57: KILLER TRUCK!

Image
TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #57:   KILLER TRUCK! by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_La Vigna ) Try not to get run over! Today's broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was fun as hell. The playlist rocked hard and had some solid variety, I felt totally in control when I was on air, and I had some new listeners hangin' with me in the chat, keeping me company and giving me the energy I needed to give it my all while I was live. My "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" for today's program was the rockin' tune " Pay Yer Taxes " by The Fucktons, a two-man surf/garage/punk band from Peekskill, NY. That's right, I'm still out here representing the 914 scene everybody! And now that live music is starting to come back, I can't wait to start promoting upcoming shows on T.T. Speaking of which, on June 25th 2021, The Fucktons are gonna be playing alongside NYC rockers The Nuclears at the Green Growler in Croton-On-Hudson, NY. if you're in the area, check it out! It's g...
