A Poem: "Wounds Over Muzak"
Wounds Over Muzak
by Chris La Vigna (@Chris La Vigna)
"A warm spring sun
Shines down on Earth
Yet you’re blind
To its radiance
You’re busy bleeding
In a malfunctioning elevator
Frozen between floors
Held betwixt hallways
These God damned doorways
Thresholds of potential
Limitless and limited
Portals of paradox
That mock you so
What are you going to do about it?
Nothing
Do as you are
Absolutely nothing
Embody deficiency
Exemplify entropy
A legacy of mediocrity
Stumbling towards its zenith
Spilling so much red liquid tissue
Onto the cold linoleum floor
In your final sputtering fragments
Recall a joke
Laugh, forget, let go
With a free heart
And voided bowels
Embrace a silent cacophony."
