TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #43: METAL MOOKS

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #43 :  METAL MOOKS by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna )/ featuring a review by Ray Berly ( @autopsyturvy ) MOOKS ROCK! Today's live broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was an ass-kickin' good time centered around the best genre of music: heavy metal. Metal is the best, all other music is inferior. I say this with absolute authority, no one is allowed to debate me on this, ever.  In all seriousness though, the show flowed real smooth, aside from the occasional flub brought on by my brain and mouth refusing to ever function in perfect unison with each other. I played some thrash, some death metal, even threw in some NWOBHM for the old heads out there. It was a perfect show for all who love the taste of metal on their tongue and the ringing of tinnitus in their ears. My "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" for this week's show was super-heavy song " Rotten Curdled Milk Spraying From The Mouth Of A Wizard " by the one-man Death Metal/Grindcore ...

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #42: WEREWOLF HOT

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #42:   WEREWOLF HOT by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) You've read "Vampire Handsome," now get ready for... Today's broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was loads of fun, i played some killer hardcore punk and darkwave, punctuating it all with rambles about my favorite mainstream cryptid, the werewolf! I also threw in some choice werewolf movie samples as well, because how else was I going to solidify the vibe? Nothing like the trailer for  Werewolves on Wheels to get the blood pumping. When  I was a kid, I wanted to be a werewolf way more than I ever wanted to be a vampire. For starters, the immortality thing always seemed like it would get boring after a while, and for another, being super strong and hairy seemed cool to me. Now as an adult, I'm definitely hairier. Now I just have to work on the whole "getting stronger" part of the deal... My "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" was the song " El Llanto " by the band ...

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #41: YOUNG MONSTERS IN LOVE

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #41 :  YOUNG MONSTERS IN LOVE by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) Love is such a strange creature... Today's Valentine's Day-adjacent broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was another success, smooth as a silk glove that you slip onto your hand and wrap around someone's throat as you...well, I'll let you fill in the blank on that one. I did my best to play a good mix of songs that I felt represented the various permutations of love, lust, and heartbreak that modern love can dole out to us. Last week, I managed to get the lead singer from Eve 6 to shout out my show/Kpiss.FM, under the agreement that I would play their new single, " Black Nova ." Since I'm a man of my word, I made sure to play the song at the top of my set today. It's an easy contract to fulfill, because the song is legitimately great. The verses have this slinky, dark underbelly feel to them achieved by the fuzzy single note guitar riff and and bass combination, an...

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #40: LORDY LORDY, LOOK WHO'S TURNING 4040

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #40 :  LORDY LORDY, LOOK WHO'S TURNING 4040 by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna )/ featuring a review from Ray Berly ( @autotopsyturvy ) Markula Lives! Today's live broadcast was the 40th episode of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION, and it turned out to be a perfect blend of the kind of sloppy irreverence and quality music exhibitionism that you've all undoubtedly come to expect from the T.T. brand. We're cruising on through the sound waves, folks. Pretty soon, I'll hit episode 50, 60, 70(!!) and beyond! Actually if I can at least make it having done this show for a year, I'll be happy. That would mean that I'll be doing this in April, which is crazy! Like God damn, has it really been almost a year of this? It honestly does feel like just yesterday I was sweating profusely as I agonized over my first playlist and worried about what kind of "tone" I wanted to go for with my talk breaks. Remember those crappy Joe Camel skits?! Time is an i...
