TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #42: WEREWOLF HOT

 TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #42:

WEREWOLF HOT

by Chris La Vigna (@Chris_LaVigna)

You've read "Vampire Handsome," now get ready for...

Today's broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was loads of fun, i played some killer hardcore punk and darkwave, punctuating it all with rambles about my favorite mainstream cryptid, the werewolf! I also threw in some choice werewolf movie samples as well, because how else was I going to solidify the vibe? Nothing like the trailer for Werewolves on Wheels to get the blood pumping.

When  I was a kid, I wanted to be a werewolf way more than I ever wanted to be a vampire. For starters, the immortality thing always seemed like it would get boring after a while, and for another, being super strong and hairy seemed cool to me. Now as an adult, I'm definitely hairier. Now I just have to work on the whole "getting stronger" part of the deal...

My "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" was the song "El Llanto" by the band Araña, off their recent demo release "Escondides." I've admittedly never heard of this band before this release, but after hearing about this demo (on account of the fact that my friend Scott T recorded and mixed it), they're officially one of the top NYC punk acts I hope to catch at a show once it feels safe to go to D.I.Y. shows again.

If you missed today's live broadcast, you stream it here via the Kpiss website. You can also catch up on past episodes here. Follow the wolf pack! One of us! One of us! Lift up your head and howl at the mood like the beautiful beast that you are! One of us! One of us!
