TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #22: WHAT IS YOUR NAME?

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #22 :  WHAT IS YOUR NAME?   by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) "And your name...what the fuck is your name?!" Today's broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION, the final one of September 2020, was nice and smooth, like beads of water rolling down a dolphin's back. I don't know where I took that particular simile from, but it feels right. I played some impromptu songs today of my own composition. I think I'm going to start doing that more. It was fun and it felt like a new way for me to let loose. Look for the 7-inch of "I WILL KILL AGAIN" in your local record store soon! My Bandcamp Pick Of The Week was the song "Karen" by Indentured, off their new EP "Resistance Etiquette." Indentured is a sick punk band out of Buffalo, New York which features Tré March (aka Tr38chno), perviously heard on the show via tracks from Old City and The Reserves. You can download the EP for free, but I encourage you to throw these ups...

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #21: SIGIL

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #21 :  SIGIL by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) Invoking the magick! Today's broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was PRETTY SWEET.  Hahaha, well, at least I thought so! It felt like the perfect way to kick off the official start of the autumn season here in New York. This is always my time to shine! Bring on the pumpkins and cider and jackets and Halloween decorations. For this week's show, my "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" was the song "We Shall Not Stray" by The Midnight Fire, a melodic hard rock band from Yonkers, NY that's been toughing it out in the trenches of the local music scene since 2008.  Really dig their sound, check out their EPs on Bandcamp and throw them some bucks. You should also head over to Bandcamp and buy the benefit compilations Shut It Down: Benefit For The Movement For Black Lives (from which I played "Anarcha" by War On Women) and Ska Against Racism (from which I played "David Duke Is Runn...

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #20: KILL THE COWBOY

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #20 :  KILL THE COWBOY by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) Draw! Today's broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was a rip roarin' good time. We ran the sheriff out of town with our hot blasts of rock 'n' roll, and now we rule everything. My Bandcamp Pick Of The Week was "Cleanse" by Save The Broken . They're a damn good Yonkers metalcore band. Looking forward to hearing whatever they come out with next. I also played some MDC, Queen Wolf, Pantera, and more, as you can see form the the track list below. I just realized that listing the bands the way I usually do in this paragraph is redundant when the track list is posted at the bottom, but whatever. If you missed today's broadcast, you can stream it here via the Kpiss website. You can also catch up on past shows here . Welp, looks like it's about time for me to hit the ol' dusty trail. See you cowpokes and gunslingers next week! TT #20 TRACK LIST : Seatbelts - Tank! (Cowbo...

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #19: GO TEAM VENTURE

Image
TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #19 :  GO TEAM VENTURE By Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) #VENTUREBROSFOREVER Today's episode of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION went great, even if I was feeling a good deal of melancholy the entire time. Venture Bros has been cancelled after seven years and seventeen years of being on the air. I basically grew up with this show, and it felt like the characters grew up with me. Hearing that they've been cancelled as Publick and Hammer were writing the eighth (and supposedly final) season makes it hurt even more. It feels like losing an old friend without getting to say goodbye. I hope one day we manage to get a proper finale for the series. I feel like the creators and the fans really deserve it. VB getting cancelled is truly the rotten cherry atop the shit sundae that is this terrible year of our lord 2020. My Bandcamp Pick of The Week was the song "Undertit" by Another Astronaut , a pop punk band from Bronx that knows how to bring the good tunes and...

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #18: WE BLEW IT (UP)

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #18 :  WE BLEW IT (UP) By Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) Not listening to TERMINAL TRANSMISSION is a special brand of mutually assured destruction... Well, today's episode of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION started off a little bumpier than I would have liked, but once the tech issues were sorted out, we rock 'n' rolled right along. Always check your work Slack, kids! My Bandcamp Pick Of The Week was the song "Catharsis" by Strange Hours . They're a pretty sweet three-piece metal band out of Westchester, NY. Their new EP, Catharsis , totally slaps. Do people still say music they like slaps? I don't know, I'm not even thirty yet and I already feel like I'm way out of step with whatever passes for youth culture these days. If you missed today's broadcast, you can listen to it here via the Kpiss.fm website. You can also check out other past episodes here . Thanks for tuning in! I'll see you all next week. Well, not see you, ...
