TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #19: GO TEAM VENTURE
TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #19:
GO TEAM VENTURE
By Chris La Vigna (@Chris_LaVigna)
Today's episode of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION went great, even if I was feeling a good deal of melancholy the entire time. Venture Bros has been cancelled after seven years and seventeen years of being on the air. I basically grew up with this show, and it felt like the characters grew up with me. Hearing that they've been cancelled as Publick and Hammer were writing the eighth (and supposedly final) season makes it hurt even more. It feels like losing an old friend without getting to say goodbye.
I hope one day we manage to get a proper finale for the series. I feel like the creators and the fans really deserve it. VB getting cancelled is truly the rotten cherry atop the shit sundae that is this terrible year of our lord 2020.
My Bandcamp Pick of The Week was the song "Undertit" by Another Astronaut, a pop punk band from Bronx that knows how to bring the good tunes and the good times. I felt they'd be a good fit for a broadcast centered around a show that loved space and high-energy shenanigans. I also played some J.G. Thirlwell, Weep, David Bowie, Duran Duran, and more.
If you missed today's broadcast, you can stream it here via the Kpiss website. You can also catch up on past episodes here. 'Til next week everybody. And, as always...
GO TEAM VENTURE!
