TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #26: HALLOWEEN HELL 2020

Image
TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #26 :  HALLOWEEN HELL 2020 by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) Silver Shamrock ain't messin' around this year... Today's broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION got off to a rocky start thanks to some tech issues (although this time they weren't my fault!) but hey, that's indie media for ya baby. What matters is that Sheri and the crew got it fixed, and your boy got to do his big Halloween week show! So what if it was a little late? Better late than never right? RIGHT?! My "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" is the song "The Color Red" by Zaurya , a dope metal band from Westchester. From what I can tell, the group was born in the midst of the terrible pandemic and quarantine that will ultimately go down as the defining event of this year (perhaps even this decade, depending on the severity of the fallout), and y'know what, good on the people involved for gathering remotely and making some cool heavy music. I salute you, Zaurya! If...

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #25: THE CREATURE WILL HAVE HIS REVENGE

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #25 :  THE CREATURE WILL HAVE HIS REVENGE by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) ...Oh crap, he sees you! RUN! Today's brutal broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was some of the most fun I've ever had on this show. For some reason everything just clicked today (aside from when I accidentally hit pause on that Mudvayne song for a second) and I felt like I was the kind of DJ that I love listening to on the radio myself: erratic and showy while also being sincere and down-to-earth. Here's hoping that I only get better at it from here. My "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" this time around was the song " Tennessee " by Bonnie And The Mere Mortals, off their EP of the same name. I can't even remember how I stumbled upon this band, definitely through some channel of social media, but I took to their self-described "Southern Gothic" style instantly. I urge you to buy their EP on Bandcamp, you won't regret it. Also, here's tha...

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #24: PSYCHOBILLY FALLOUT

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #24 :  PSYCHOBILLY FALLOUT                                                       by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) Mass murder, rockabilly style! Today's broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was some more spooky fun. It had a bit more of a classic rock 'n' roll (and at times even disco) vibe to it, and most importantly, I managed to avert a complete technical disaster by fixing some metadata stuff before it cut into my show's runtime. As always, remember to check your work slack kids! My "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" for the show was the song " Killer Is King " by Killer Kin, who hail from New Haven, CT. This band fucking rules, they have that noisy old-school rock meets '77 punk vibe, some honest-to-God next generation Cramps-style rock for your grey matter. Buy their EP " BAD BAD MINDS " off of Bandcamp and blast it thr...

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #23: WHEN SKELETONS ATTACK!

Image
TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #23 :  WHEN SKELETONS ATTACK! by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) They're coming for your skin! Today's broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was a fun one, a great way to start October. I feel the magic of the Halloween season pumping through my veins, and I definitely feel like it helped me a better DJ today. My "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" for today's show was "The Blues" by Queen Wolf. One of the best bands out of Baltimore, MD continues to kick ass with their new single. And I hear they've got more new stuff on the way. Can't wait to hear it and share it with you all! If you missed today's broadcast, you can stream it here via the the Kpiss website. You can also catch up on past episodes here . Until next time everybody! Keep it spooky. TT#23 TRACKLIST : Seatbelts - Tank! (Cowboy Bebop Opening Theme) White Zombie - I'm Your Boogieman Danzig -  Possession Queen Wolf - The Blues GWAR - I'll Be Your Monster Joh...

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #22: WHAT IS YOUR NAME?

Image
TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #22 :  WHAT IS YOUR NAME?   by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) "And your name...what the fuck is your name?!" Today's broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION, the final one of September 2020, was nice and smooth, like beads of water rolling down a dolphin's back. I don't know where I took that particular simile from, but it feels right. I played some impromptu songs today of my own composition. I think I'm going to start doing that more. It was fun and it felt like a new way for me to let loose. Look for the 7-inch of "I WILL KILL AGAIN" in your local record store soon! My Bandcamp Pick Of The Week was the song "Karen" by Indentured, off their new EP "Resistance Etiquette." Indentured is a sick punk band out of Buffalo, New York which features Tré March (aka Tr38chno), perviously heard on the show via tracks from Old City and The Reserves. You can download the EP for free, but I encourage you to throw these ups...

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #21: SIGIL

Image
TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #21 :  SIGIL by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) Invoking the magick! Today's broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was PRETTY SWEET.  Hahaha, well, at least I thought so! It felt like the perfect way to kick off the official start of the autumn season here in New York. This is always my time to shine! Bring on the pumpkins and cider and jackets and Halloween decorations. For this week's show, my "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" was the song "We Shall Not Stray" by The Midnight Fire, a melodic hard rock band from Yonkers, NY that's been toughing it out in the trenches of the local music scene since 2008.  Really dig their sound, check out their EPs on Bandcamp and throw them some bucks. You should also head over to Bandcamp and buy the benefit compilations Shut It Down: Benefit For The Movement For Black Lives (from which I played "Anarcha" by War On Women) and Ska Against Racism (from which I played "David Duke Is Runn...

TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #20: KILL THE COWBOY

Image
TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #20 :  KILL THE COWBOY by Chris La Vigna ( @Chris_LaVigna ) Draw! Today's broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was a rip roarin' good time. We ran the sheriff out of town with our hot blasts of rock 'n' roll, and now we rule everything. My Bandcamp Pick Of The Week was "Cleanse" by Save The Broken . They're a damn good Yonkers metalcore band. Looking forward to hearing whatever they come out with next. I also played some MDC, Queen Wolf, Pantera, and more, as you can see form the the track list below. I just realized that listing the bands the way I usually do in this paragraph is redundant when the track list is posted at the bottom, but whatever. If you missed today's broadcast, you can stream it here via the Kpiss website. You can also catch up on past shows here . Welp, looks like it's about time for me to hit the ol' dusty trail. See you cowpokes and gunslingers next week! TT #20 TRACK LIST : Seatbelts - Tank! (Cowbo...
