TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #53: TERRACOTTA SPOOK HOUSE

 TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #53:

TERRACOTTA SPOOK HOUSE

I know man, I don't get it either, I just know it's creepy. (Credit: Abroad In Japan)

Today's broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was fun, if not perhaps a bit disjointed. As I mentioned while I was on the air, I scrambled to get this playlist together in time for the show. Usually I have my episodes assembled well in advance, sometimes with two or three weeks' worth of playlists ready, but due to a host of factors, I fell behind and assembled today's show the night before.

To be clear though, I don't consider that some sort of massive broadcasting sin or anything like that. I love really thinking out a show's concept and creating a fun theme, but a lot of cool and creative things can emerge from the pressure that forces you go off-the-cuff with whatever your particular medium is.

A rather raunchy definition of the term "spook house" that I'd never heard of until I stumbled upon its Urban Dictionary entry last night.

My "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" for this week's show was the kick ass punk rock tune "Scum" by Philly punk band King Azaz. Another great band I've discovered thanks to them being hyped by Old City, this track off their new Album "Forever Green" is a rip-roaring song with catchy riffs, raw and powerful vocals, and loads of energy. Plus it starts off with a killer sample from the film "I Shot Andy Warhol," which rules. If you haven't seen this particular flick, directed by Mary Harron, the same auteur who gifted us that magnificent filmic adaptation of AMERICAN PSYCHO, you should correct that as soon as humanly possible. Nuff said.

If you missed today's show when it was live on the air, you can stream the recording here via the new, spiffy-looking Kpiss website. You can also catch up on past episodes here. And remember: it's ALWAYS GONNA BE MAY, BAY-BAY!!! Yeah, it's okay, I have no idea what I meant by that either. I just felt it in the moment and rolled with it. Anyways, See ya next week!
