 TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #51:

...AND THE HITS KEEP COMING!

by Chris La Vigna (@Chris_LaVigna)

Let 'em have it!

Today's broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was. fan-freakin' tastic, like a nice piece-a mozzarell' topped on top of a slice of semolina bread with some olive oil drizzled on top and a slice of tomato wedged right in there. My on-mic banter was on point and I had a nice mix of regular listeners in the chat helping me keep my spirits and my energy levels high.

Shows like this one remind me why I keep on doing this, why I keep putting in the energy to organize these little playlists and search through the seemingly endless depths of the internet to find new music that excites me and my small but dedicated base of listeners as well. It's always the highest compliment when someone tells me that they've been exposed to something they never would've heard otherwise through my show.

We're always raising Hell on TERMINAL TRANSMISSION...

My "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" is the entrancing cut of electronic fantasy portal that is the song "H.O.T.P.I.N.K." by the duo PET wife, a queer trans couple who make experimental pop music together. They came highly recommended from Justin Mayer of Old City, so I had no choice but to check out the song, and lo and behold, it's an absolute banger from start to finish.

The relentless beat, mixed with some slick samples  layered robo-vocals, feels both futuristic and old-school at the same time. As I listened to the song several times over in rapid succession, I pictured myself at a rave in an abandoned New York City church, bathed in purple and blue lights as I feverishly danced away, under the influence of some good drugs and an even more powerful unspoken force of ritual and love/lust. (mind you, I can't dance for shit, but in this fantasy zone I sure as hell could!). Buy this sexy ass song and keep your eye out for more music from PET wife.

If you missed today's live broadcast, you can stream it here via the KPISS website (there's also a mobile app now). You can also catch up on past programs here. As long as T.T. keeps a-rockin', boring radio sleeps with the fishes!

P.S. Guilty on all three counts, FUCK YOU Derek Chauvin. Rest In Peace and Power George Floyd. A small bit of justice, served far too late, but recognized just the same. Yeah, I know that in terms of tone that's a complete 360 degree turn, but screw it. I want my raw feelings documented. I feel energized. I feel humbled by the sacrifice of countless people. The fight goes on.
