NEW YEAR'S EVIL

2021 is looking so bright, he's gotta wear shades...and stockings over his head....


Well, we actually made it to the end of this insane and evil year. Today's broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION, the final one of 2020, was an absolute blast. Months of doing this show have fine-tuned my skills as an on-air talent, and I am so excited to see how I manage to improve and grow in the new year, not just a broadcaster, but as a creative, and as a human being in general. I know we're all tip toeing into 2021, and I completely understand the emphasis on the "cautious" in our "cautious optimism," but I can't help but feel excited by the possibilities.

My final "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" for 2020 was the sonic slayer of a song that is "Abaddon" by Monochromatic Black, a progressive death metal band straight outta New York, or as I like to say, NEW YAWK! But in all seriousness, their sound is heavy and sick, with some beautifully haunting melodies thrown in to spice things up. I definitely recommend checking this band out and buying some of their music, it looks like when it comes to making cool tunes, they're just getting warmed up.

This year has been such a jumbled mix of horror, frustration, and hope. It feels like it lasted forever, yet it also sped by with even more blinding speed than other preceding years. I don't know how to explain it at all. Like many of us, I think it's going to take years for me to fully process the effects of/fallout from this year of full of Covid-19 and social/political unrest. Some of you may laugh bitterly at this, but I hope that we'll be able to look back on this year as a kind of crucible, perhaps even a necessary purge. Those of us lucky to have made it out on the other side of it should be sure to dedicate our lives to improving life on this mad spinning mud ball that we call Planet Earth in some way or another.

TRACK REVIEW:  MAINTENANCE - "LOW LIFE" by Chris La Vigna ( @instant_insanity_productions ) "Alright, who's been putting 'shrooms in the dog food again?"                           It's been quite some time since I've felt compelled to post anything on this blog.
