TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #28: MIKE'S HARD HATERADE
TERMINAL TRANSMISSION #28:
MIKE'S HARD HATERADE
by Chris La Vigna (@Chris_LaVigna)
Drink up, ya goons! Today's brilliant broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was a smashing success, and a welcome break from all the unpacking and settling in I've been doing since my big move. I feel even more comfortable in my own skin as a digital broadcaster, which helps me as I adjust to living in a new space. This prolonged election nightmare was a real endurance test, but one thing that helped ease the pain was the fact that System of A Down, dropped not one, but two--count 'em--TWO new songs! I couldn't help but play them both at the top of the show. It's bittersweet though, because the cause that pushed the band to record and release this new material is one that's been a source of rage, sorrow, and inspiration for them for decades now--the continued aggression and genocide against Armenia from Turkey. Even though the band has been at odds creatively and politically in the past, they're still friends who are capable of seeing the bigger picture and uniting when necessary. I sincerely mean it when I say that that is some inspiring stuff. My "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" was the song "Multiple Miggs" by The God Awful Truth, a kick ass mathcore band from Texas that my buddy Danilo Servian told me about. Their new album "Memory Palace" is so mind-fuckingly good, I had to listen to it back-to-back to make sure it rocked as hard as I thought it did (spoiler alert: it does indeed rock). If you're a fan of heavy music, you truly owe it to yourself to check out this band. Seriously, you will be in an eternal debt to yourself and you will be forced to pay what you owe, plus interest, in Hell for all eternity, if you do not listen to his band. So it is written, so it shall be! If you missed today's show when it was live, you can stream it here via the Kpiss website. You can also catch up on past programs here. See you malevolent monsters next week. Here's to new beginnings! TT #28 TRACKLIST: Seatbelts - Tank!
