I'm Afraid Of Americans...


Today's TERMINAL TRANSMISSION happened to fall on Election Day 2020, a day that will go down in history as one where we fought to preserve whatever echoes of a soul this incredibly flawed nation may or may not even have. It's hard for me to be funny or wacky right now. As of this writing, no results have come in yet. I fear for myself, my loved ones, this country, and for my fellow Americans who might not survive another four years of a Donald Trump presidency.

I also know in my heart that if Joe Biden wins, that the battle will still be far from over. The Biden/Harris ticket represents little more than a half-hearted return to the dysfunctional status quo that created the dissatisfaction and inequality that allowed Trump's rise to happen in the first place. There will be so much more work to be done to take this country in the progressive direction it needs to be taken, and that work will be hard and take its toll on us, especially those of us who never envisioned ourselves as activists and advocates in the first place. But desperate times call for desperate measures.

...So yeah, anyway, my "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" for today's show was "Existence" by the band Clown Car. I stumbled upon their weird work when some of their music video clips aired on the Adult Swim streams. If you like crazy, chaotic music that speaks to the uncontrolled circus that modern life has become, check them out.
