PHILADELPHIA UNNAMED FILM FESTIVAL 3 - #PUFF3 - NOW OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS!
Are you a filmmaker with a passion for genre (Horror/sci-fi/fantasy/etc) who yearns to show their work to an audience that will appreciate your experimental, if not deranged sensibilities? Or, are you simply a film lover who wants to bear witness to the most insane up-and-coming talents the crazier corners the indie film world have to offer? Then you need to check out the PHILADELPHIA UNNAMED FILM FESTIVAL or PUFF for short.
The fest, founded by Alex Gardner and Madeleine Koestner (The latter of whom this writer happens to know personally as a fellow FANGORIA contributor), is entering its third year, and is now accepting for micro-shorts, short films, and feature-length films! You can submit to PUFF3 via submissions services such as Withoutabox, FilmFreeway, and FilmFestivalLife. For those looking to attend, the festival is scheduled to take place from September 6th through September 9th, 2018.
Though still relatively young, PUFF has already proven to be a launching pad for notable underground films like the critical darling TRAGEDY GIRLS. And since February is Women In Horror Month, I feel I would be remiss if I didn't point out that the good people behind PUFF are particularly interested in submissions from women and/or PoC (though all can and should apply).
PUFF also continues to host regular genre film screening year round at the South Street Cinema in Philly, and is also going to be hosting a found footage horror festival called the UNNAMED FOOTAGE FESTIVAL at the Historic Balboa Theatre in San Francisco, CA from March 24th - 25th, 2018, so all of you West Coast horror fans should keep your eyes peeled for that.
