Okay, today's Q-Rec is another bit of shameless self-promotion: today from 12:00PM to 1:00PM EST, I'll be hosting the inaugural episode of my new radio show on KPISS.FM, which I've decided to call TERMINAL TRANSMISSION! That's right, I'm finally gonna be a DJ! Screw it! The world's on fire, why not go for it?

I'll be playing some heavy metal, hardcore punk, movie and anime themes, and whatever else strikes my fancy. Plus, you'll get to hear my soothing and seductive voice in between every few songs. So click the link to KPISS (The Golden Stream), hit the channel one button, and listen to me wing it! The show should be happening bi-weekly on Tuesdays if the world doesn't end anytime soon.

 I'll start posting links to the recordings and track lists on here as well. Because I'm obsessive like that.

TRACK REVIEW:  MAINTENANCE - "LOW LIFE" by Chris La Vigna ( @instant_insanity_productions ) "Alright, who's been putting 'shrooms in the dog food again?"                           It's been quite some time since I've felt compelled to post anything on this blog. Life comes at you fast, y'know? I suspect the fellas in Maintenance, who in my opinion are one of the most consistently interesting bands in the 914 music scene, would agree with that particular truism.  Though the band has been playing plenty of gigs over the last year or so, they have been largely quiet when it comes to dropping new music.  It's more than understandable when you consider just how deep of an impact the Covid-19 pandemic has had on not only the local music scene, but musicians and venues across the country. This week's broadcast of TERMINAL TRANSMISSION was great, partially because it ran smoothly, partially because there was a good handful of people keeping things lively in the chat (shout out to Matt Matthews, Dj Alexis, and Sulk Hogan!), and partially because the kick ass mix of tunes helped me purge a large chunk of the anxiety that's been hanging over my head since that pesky little attempted insurrection at our nation's capital last Wednesday. My "Bandcamp Pick Of The Week" was the song " The Encounter " by Syracuse-based stoner metal band Cactus Cathedral, off their December 2020 album "The Forgotten Frontier."
